Conference Happenings
Camp Wilderness, the site of the Missouri Valley Conference youth camp, recently concluded a two- week program for junior and senior campers. It was an awesome two weeks filled with the Holy Spirit and blessings galore. Despite some rain, a few storms and record-breaking heat, God used this time for his glory. Many campers came to know Jesus for the first time, and many others renewed their faith.

The camp was blessed by the ministrations and talents of a traveling summer ministries team “borrowed” from the Appalachian Region. Their hard work, flexibility, and dedication to the Lord blessed all who came in contact with them.

The highlight of the week for the senior campers was, as always, the float trip. Part of the senior camp programming is a six-mile float down the Gasconade River. The campers enjoyed some extra entertainment this year with the addition of two of the “senior staffers” who had never before floated (Pictured above.). They watched these two new floaters zig when they should have zagged, paddle in circles and travel upstream until they finally figured out how to “steer.”

The junior campers (pictured right) enjoyed swimming, games, campfires and especially praising the Lord in songs. Just watching the smiles and seeing the way their faces lit up as they raised their voices in praise was a blessing in itself.
